Dated research lesson ยท Observed 9โ€“10 October 2026 ยท 9 minutes 47 seconds. Follow a distributor's or manufacturer's question about one catalog item from NSN identification through technical fit, source references, documents, historical awards and a quote decision. The result is to hold the quote and seek the current requirement and technical clarification. This is an edited sequence of actual saved application states, not a complete action recording or a positive quote example. The current buyer's requirement must govern any response.

A separate machine-shop qualification case

A second business example starts from Main Menu โ†’ Parts/Products โ†’ Machine Shops Opportunities, selects FSC 5365, Rings, Shims and Spacers, and reviews the displayed NSN, description, dimensions, drawing reference, quantity, estimated value and notice dates. In the captured category result, the item is a spacer; those category screens do not continue into the next item example.

For technical catalog research, the lesson then explicitly switches to socket-head cap screw NSN 5305014804927. Its characteristics, recorded awards and associated-document entries are different example screens. Use their requirements and replies as research references, then compare the exact buyer specification, drawing revision, unit, quantity and delivery terms before quoting. A catalog record or historic award does not establish that the item meets a current request.
